We’re now in Tennessee!

After 83 years of living and painting in Birmingham, Alabama, Miriam and the Drawing on the Promises Art studio has moved to Crossville, Tennessee. Despite her best efforts to social distance and isolate during Covid-19, Miriam tested positive for the virus a week before Christmas, December 2020. After a week of battling the virus effects, she needed hospitalization and care. Thankfully, with the care of University of Alabama Birmingham doctors and nurses (particularly the work of Dr. Sonya Heath to secure a plasma infusion), Miriam turned the corner and was released to rehabilitation. After a month of care, she and her family decided that it would be best for her to come live with them in Crossville, Tennessee where they could help her with daily living.

We are in the process now of building an art studio in Crossville right next to her new home that will include studio space, a small gallery, and storage. Miriam still paints and draws almost every day along with playing cards with her 6 year old grandson, Peter, and watching her 13 year old grandson, Levi, play soccer.

Miriam will always call Birmingham, Alabama her true home and looks forward to visiting friends and family there in the future. We will still be creating, selling, and shipping Miriam’s art to wherever you live, and hope that you can stop by her new studio in Tennessee in 2022.
