A central theme of Miriam’s art is her faith in God. This week, many Christians around the world celebrate “Holy Week” or the days leading up to Jesus’ death and resurrection.
Miriam has quite a few works around these events as they are personal and foundational to her faith. You cannot fully understand Miriam or her art without understanding her faith perspective.
As such, I have put together a gallery collection of her works related to the Holy Week theme. One unique aspect of many of these works (especially the Stations of the Cross), is that Birmingham and surrounding “villages” are used as scenes and backdrops for the biblical event. So, “Christ Entering Jerusalem” is set in English Village. “Emmaus and the Village” is set in Mountain Brook Village, etc.
We hope that one day these works will find themselves in your home or in a public space for all to enjoy. Until then, we hope you’ll be encouraged to see them online.
