The Birmingham Botanical Gardens opened in 1963 and became a favorite place for Miriam to visit and paint over the decades. Miriam loves to draw and paint at botanical gardens wherever she travels. This collection explores those works at both formal and informal gardens.

Birmingham's Villages
Suburban "villages" like Mountain Brook, Crestline, Homewood, and English Village were carefully planned communities for wealthier families hoping to exchange the city life of an industrial steel-making and coal-mining Birmingham in the mid-1920s for a more peaceful, less crowded, and more rural setting.

Places of worship have always played a significant role in the culture and society of Birmingham from its early founding to the Civil Rights Movement to today's mega churches. Miriam has painted many of the churches in Birmingham.
